EB5 vs 10 Year Chinese Visitor Visa

Image
Recently our associates in Beijing took notice of recent APEC comments this month. It was quoted: "Under the new arrangement, student and exchange visas will be extended to five years; business and tourist visas will be extended to 10 years." Understandably Chinese are wondering if this will make it harder for #EB5 Visa or non value based on recent conversations. Mona Shah & Associates have published an excellent blog today stating that this not true.....they quote "this news came a flurry of articles and opinions leading to a number of misconceptions, most notably that a 10-year visa is an equivalent of a 10-year green card. This certainly is not true. A business and tourist visa is a non-immigrant visa, with many limitations. The applicant who is granted a 10-year visa is still not allowed to live continuously or work in the U.S."  http://mshahblog.com/?p=2969

EB-5 Funding or Dream Chasing for Chinese Immigration Investors

Considering a new source of capital? EB-5 has a bright future in capitalizing U.S. sponsored projects.  Today, more Chinese nationals than ever before are trying to live their dreams, not within the borders of China, but by gaining permanent residency status in the U.S. through investment and job creation. In fact, according to the Hurun Wealth Report 2012, more than 16 percent of China’s millionaires have already emigrated or submitted immigration applications, while 44 percent are planning to do so in the future.
